Roam…….
So, got the Roam DVD last Wednesday and gave it a watch then, with a second, inattentive one tonight (as I was working/bidding on Ebay at the same time) and, well, it’s good, but not as good as The Collective.
Maybe it’s because it’s not a new approach to MTB films anymore. (Halfway to Nowhere in particular doing a good job of advancing this genre of MTB flick)
Unlike The Collective or NWD6, there’s no immediate stand-out shore/woodland riding section off the bat, though the Ryan Leech section is amazing, as is customary.
The voice over feels a little out of place at times.
There were a couple of moments where I found myself wondering why there was such high saturation on some of the shots, instead of looking at the shot itself.
Were my expectaions too high?
Maybe it’s just a grower.
We’ll see…..

I wasn’t overly enamoured with the collective so I’m in no rush to go get it.
Some lovely bits and good ideas but just didn’t do it for me.

I have seen, and probably will never see, either.

Roam did a good job of story telling, which gets overlooked by mtbers sometimes. I enjoyed the camera work even though the colors looked too artificial at times. Your bike can be fixed! I just had my Ti bike rewelded with new down tube and a disc brake mount. Over ten years on the same frame… Nice blog.

Ten years? cool.
Got a link to pics of the frame post-repair?
