Hi Grant.

I know this is an ancient thread, but anyway, what the hell. There is a small comany here in Melbourne, Australia called Gripsport who specialises in bike frame repairs, and will be able to repair your Tinbred to better (stronger) than new, no problem. And they are cheap cheap, cheap. They are proud of the fact that they can repair or modify any steel, Cro-Mo, aluminium, scandium alloy or straight Ti and Ti alloy framesets. No frame cracks can beat this guy--check out his website repair examples!!!
Ive had a DN6 EBB inbred frame repaired by these guys--in my case it was the top-tube and headstem that failed, as well as a seatstay. Gripsport customised some funky gussets to stress relieve the cracks and put it all together for $140 Aus (thats right, 70 quid). Rides better than new now.

Anyway, they deal with OS postage stuff all the time. Just get on their website (google Gripsport), read the details, or perhaps contact the owner Jon Weaving directly and ask for his advice.

Cheers

I collect my EBB one next weekend, so it would be surplus to requirements.
:-/

Did wonder about contacting Brant, but not sure what to say, or what the point would be.

The ride home was the memorial. I risked some of the singletrack between where I found the cracks and home. Wasn't as if things could get any worse (bar getting my bollocks ripped off by a completely snapped seat tube and I didn't sit the whole way to keep my bollocks safe).

Couldn't bear to just come home on the road.

There will be a viking funeral at some point, then the frame goes on the wall of the garage, after a sob-filled stripping of the frame.

Can't believe it. In the last 2 months or so, I've spent just under £400 on bits, incl last night's Ebay wheelset.

No idea what I'm going to do.....I can't afford any sort of replacement and I will shortly have a big box of (expensive) bits with no frame for them to go on. :-/
